These days, the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE) is being grandly held in Shanghai. As in previous editions, many members of the China Zhi Gong Party in Shanghai have been active in various events. On November 6, Shao Zhiqing, full-time Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party, visited the National Exhibition and Convention Center to take a close look at the products of certain member-run enterprises and the work of their entrepreneurs.

Shao Zhiqing first went to the “Four-Leaf Clover” automobile pavilion, where he visited Gu Yongtao, Deputy Director of the Economic Committee of the Municipal Committee, who was leading his enterprise’s exhibition. He listened attentively to the briefing on the enterprise’s achievements in recent years—focusing on carbon fiber and developing rapidly as a leading global provider of integrated composite-material solutions—and its outlook for the future. He encouraged Gu Yongtao, as a returned-overseas-Chinese entrepreneur, to continue leveraging his broad connections at home and abroad and to tell the story of China’s innovation and entrepreneurship well.

In the food and agricultural products pavilion, Shao Zhiqing visited Hao Pengfei, member of the Municipal Committee and Director of its Youth Work Committee, who was busy at the Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group) display area. He browsed the dazzling array of exhibits and listened to the relevant person in charge introduce the food products. He hoped Hao Pengfei would continue to base himself on the development of his enterprise and, in line with the duties of a person in charge of a Zhi Gong Party committee, make even greater contributions to serving the “two integrations” and supporting rural revitalization.

Shao Zhiqing visited Ren Meifei, Deputy Director of the Municipal Committee’s External Liaison Committee. As Executive Director of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in China, she provided assistance to Uruguay’s participation in the CIIE this year, further promoting Shanghai residents’ understanding and awareness of Uruguay through the CIIE platform. At the exhibition area, Mr. Marlboro, President of the Uruguayan Chamber of Commerce who has lived in Shanghai for 16 years, warmly introduced Uruguay’s abundant natural resources and local customs to Shao Zhiqing in fluent Chinese, and expressed his admiration for the CIIE.

Shao Zhiqing also came to the exhibition area set up by P.R.I.D.E. (Pacific Rim Institute for Development and Education), which holds consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council, and watched an international coffee showcase that was under way. Accompanied by Zhao Yuanhong and Ou Jing, two members of the China Zhi Gong Party, he enthusiastically experienced the activities at the Yunnan coffee booth and noted that Yunnan’s coffee bean industry is embracing an unprecedented window of opportunity. Members of the China Zhi Gong Party, he said, can bring their various professional strengths to bear—by expanding domestic and overseas markets, supporting brand planning, and improving processing technology—to make new contributions to the high-quality development of Yunnan’s coffee bean industry.
