P.R.I.D.E. Signs Agreement with the Federation of Enterprises and Chambers of Commerce Based in Shanghai

On the morning of November 6, the entry visit of the "One Hundred Chambers of Commerce Tour the CIIE" by the Shanghai Cooperation and Exchange Procurement Delegation officially launched at the 7th China International Import Expo. More than 160 representatives of chambers of commerce based in Shanghai from various regions — including the Shanghai Yunnan Chamber of Commerce, the Shanghai Sichuan Chamber of Commerce, the Shanghai Henan Chamber of Commerce, the Shanghai Hangzhou Chamber of Commerce and the Shanghai Jiangsu Huai'an Chamber of Commerce — gathered at the National Exhibition and Convention Center to keep their appointment with the CIIE.

At 10:00 a.m., the entry ceremony of the One Hundred Chambers of Commerce Tour the CIIE officially began at the Bank of China Hui·Cooperation Hall in Hall 8.1 of the National Exhibition and Convention Center. First, Qiang Pengcheng, Deputy Director of the Cooperation and Exchange Office of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, delivered a speech, reviewing and affirming the work of the previous editions of the Cooperation and Exchange Procurement Delegation, and expressing the hope that the work of the delegation would get better and better at the 7th CIIE. Wang Junhao, Deputy Head of the Cooperation and Exchange Procurement Delegation and President of the Shanghai Federation of Enterprises (Chambers of Commerce) from Various Regions Based in Shanghai, introduced the background of this event, and expressed the federation's highly attentive and proactive attitude, stating that it would actively respond and conscientiously and solidly carry out all the work of the Cooperation and Exchange Procurement Delegation. The Bank of China provided corresponding support for this "One Hundred Chambers of Commerce Tour the CIIE," and Shan Rui, Deputy General Manager of the Administrative and Public Institutions Department of the Head Office, came specially from Beijing to deliver congratulatory remarks.

In the joint presence of Qiang Pengcheng, Deputy Director of the Municipal Cooperation Office; Hu Yalong, former Party Committee Secretary and President of the Federation; Chen Denghua, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Federation; and Li Judong, Executive Vice President of the Federation, the signing ceremony of the International Partnership Memorandum was held. Ms. Yang Bin, Executive Vice President of the Federation, President of the Shanghai Yunnan Chamber of Commerce and President of Taiwu Group, on behalf of the Federation, jointly signed the International Partnership Memorandum with the UN NGO P.R.I.D.E. (Pacific Rim Institute for Development and Education) and the Danish Agriculture and Food Council.

Subsequently, Stuart Patrick, President of the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce of the United Kingdom, took the stage to share the cooperation and gains over the past year since signing the memorandum with the Cooperation and Exchange Procurement Delegation last year; he is full of hope for future cooperation. Lao Jiuchi, Chief Representative in China of the Danish Agriculture and Food Council, introduced Danish agriculture and the situation of the Danish exhibitors attending this CIIE, and expressed the hope of cooperating in depth with the Cooperation and Exchange Procurement Delegation for win-win development.

Finally, Yang Zheng, Secretary of the Municipal Cooperation Office; Wang Junhao, President of the Federation; Richard Muir, Executive President of the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce of the United Kingdom; Zhao Yuanhong, Director-General of the UN NGO P.R.I.D.E. (Pacific Rim Institute for Development and Education); Lao Jiuchi, Chief Representative in China of the Danish Agriculture and Food Council; and Zhang Lunda, Executive President of the Shanghai Sichuan Chamber of Commerce, jointly launched the entry ceremony.

Since the first CIIE, the Municipal Government's Cooperation and Exchange Office has always upheld the CIIE's concept of openness, cooperation and mutual benefit, giving play to the CIIE's four major platform functions of international procurement, investment promotion, cultural exchange, and open cooperation, and striving to help enterprises coming to Shanghai from various regions connect with resources, smooth channels, and achieve more procurement, deeper cooperation and better development. After the CIIE, summary and showcase events will also be held to continuously amplify the spillover effect of the CIIE, so that the opportunities, dividends and outcomes of the CIIE benefit more enterprises, a broader population and a wider scope.
